Sánchez Gónzalez, Ricardo
Bio
Ricardo Sánchez González graduated as an Architect from the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) in 2003.
In 2005, together with José Ignacio Linazasoro, he won first prize in the competition for the Segovia University Campus.
In 2008, working independently, he was awarded first prize for the design and construction of the Young Art Hangar in Miranda de Ebro, an exhibition space and educational centre dedicated to art.
In 2011, he won first prize for the design and construction of a 112-unit social housing block in Madrid.
Since 2011, he has taught Architectural Design at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM).
In 2012, together with José Ignacio Linazasoro, he founded Linazasoro & Sánchez Arquitectura SLP, based in Madrid.
Within this partnership, he was awarded first prize in the following competitions:
In 2014, the competition for the redevelopment of the Puerta del Sol area in Madrid.
In 2015, the competition for the rehabilitation and extension of the Museum of Fine Arts in Gran Canaria.
In 2011, the competition for the extension of the Conseil du Bas-Rhin headquarters in Strasbourg, France.
In 2012, the competition for the rehabilitation of the Zigherane Building in Rovereto, Italy.
In 2011, the competition for the design and construction of an underground car park and pedestrian access system in Brescia, Italy.
In 2019, he developed the adaptation and restoration project for the Cerrillo de los Moros Castle in Navas del Rey, Madrid.
Also closely linked to the field of public spaces, in 2018 he won the competition for the redevelopment of the surroundings of the Basilica of Notre-Dame-du-Port in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and in 2019 the competition for the redevelopment of the surroundings of the Basilica of Notre-Dame-des-Miracles in Mauriac, France.
Working independently, Ricardo Sánchez González has also been awarded several first prizes:
In 2019, he won first prize for the design and construction of two residential blocks comprising 205 housing units, as well as first prize for the construction of an 80-unit social housing block in Madrid.
In addition, in 2012, he won first prize for the design and construction of a 100-unit public housing block in Madrid.
His work has been recognized and published through lectures, exhibitions, and awards at both national and international levels.
