His extensive teaching experience is developed as Associate Professor of Projects in the DPA (Department of Architectural Projects) of the ETSAM since 2003 and the master of projects MPAA10 and 11 of the ETSAM, Associate Professor of Projects in the ie School of Architecture and Design since 2010 and Professor of Design Methodology and Industrial Design Projects at the Universidad Nebrija de Madrid since 2012. He has conducted workshops and given lectures at the most prestigious universities such as: Bauhaus University of Weimar, Germany; the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy; the School of Architecture of La Sapienza di Roma, Italy; the Buffalo University of New York, the School of Architecture Planning and Landscape of Newcastle, England, the European Institute of Design, the Superior School of Architecture of Seville; the Faculty of Architecture of El Vallés, Barcelona; the Foundation of the Official College of Architects of Madrid COAM, Association of Designers of Madrid DIMAD, among others.
As a researcher he has published books, chapters and articles in numerous publications. His academic activity includes presentations and conferences in seminars and congresses linked to national and international institutions. His interests and work have been collected in the monograph Except 24 “Light Machinery”, in the collection dedicated to studies of Madrid by the COAM. He is also co-author of “Vivir 100 Años” (first prize BAE 2016).
Pino began his career, while still in university, through a collaboration with the office of Mansilla and Tuñón Architects. After five successful years of working for them, he moved to the office Juan Navarro Baldeweg, where he took on the responsibilities of project team leader for national and international projects. Since 1999 Fernando Pino has collaborated Manuel G. Paredes, after their early success in various competitions they opened their own office, Paredes Pino Architects, in 2001. His work with Paredes Pino Architects has earned his firm more than 20 prizes in national and international open competitions. The firm’s work has been published in a variety of international and national magazines, including Arquitectura Viva, El Croquis, AV projects, BAU, Pasajes, MARK, Bauwelt, VIA, Detail, A+U Japan, A+T, Future, Detail, Domus and Lotus.
