Bio
Born in Alcázar de San Juan. Ciudad Real (1958). Architect by Madrid School of Architecture in 1982. Ph. D. Architect in 2002. Associate professor in Architectural Design at Madrid School of Architecture (1997- 2007). Full professor in Architectural Design at Madrid School of Architecture since 2007. Coordinator for Ramos Design Studio Unit. Professor of Experimental Workshop II on Hormigón Concreto. Professor of MPAA.
Researcher of the research group Cultura del Hábitat through the line Materia y Espacio, developed by means of Cátedra Blanca Cemex. Lead researcher of in the Project for UNCUYO, Mendoza, Argentine Republic. Author of el teresianun (2009) and a través del pasado dibujado (2009) included in the series of books ‘preposiciones-proposiciones’. Author of del alba al atardecer (2012) and del abismo al infinito (2015), books edited by Nobuko-design.
His work designed and built with Ignacio Vicens has been published in many books and magazines both national and international, outstanding four monographs of his work. It has also been nationally and internationally exhibited and selected in several architecture biennials. He has obtained numerous prizes in architecture competitions and quality of built work competitions, such as Wallpaper, CEOE, Madrid Official College of Architects, Vasco Navarro, Castilla la Mancha, Madrid City Council, Iberfad, Cemex International, Stone Prize, Fundamentos Prize for architectural drawing, etc. Visiting professor at Sapienza University, Spanish Academy in Rome and several universities and colleges of architects of Spain.
