Navarro Ríos, Víctor

Víctor Navarro (1979) holds a PhD in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and is a Professor of Architectural Design at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM). He has also taught at the European University of Madrid and at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) of Harvard University. He has directed architectural design workshops and courses at the HEAD – Geneva School of Art and Design in Switzerland and at the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) in Santander, Spain.

Together with María Langarita, he founded the architectural practice Langarita Navarro in Madrid in 2005. Their work has received numerous international awards, including the Special Mention for Emerging Architect at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award for the Red Bull Music Academy project, as well as the AR+D Award for Emerging Architecture. They have also received several national distinctions, including the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism Award, the COAM Award, the AD Heineken New Values Award, and the FAD Architecture Award.

Their work has been selected for major exhibitions and events such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, and the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. It has also been exhibited at the Architekturzentrum Wien and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Their work forms part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou.
