Moreno Hernández, Álvaro

Álvaro Moreno holds a degree in architecture from ETSAM (1997) and a Ph.D. in Architecture from UPM-ETSAM (2016), having defended his dissertation, “Lightness: A Proposal for Architecture,” with the grade of “outstanding cum laude.”

Between 2012 and 2017, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Projects at ETSAM, and since 2017 he has been an Associate Professor in the same department. He has been a professor in Experimental Workshop I, “Materia y Espacio,” since 2010, and in Experimental Workshop II, “Hormigón Concreto,” since 2019.

Researcher with the “Cultura del Hábitat” research group since 2008. Coordinator of the CÁTEDRA BLANCA since its creation in 2002, notably curating exhibitions and annual lecture series. Professor at UAX, UIC, and UNIA. He is a speaker at international conferences and a contributor and reviewer for specialized publications. Accredited by ANECA since 2023 as a Profesor Contratado Doctor.

He practices professionally at the Espinosa + Moreno Arquitectos studio.

His portfolio includes projects for private clients and for the government through public competitions.
