Bio
Sergio Martín Blas is a PhD architect, professor and researcher on architectural design. He is currently the academic secretary of the PhD Programme of the DPA (Advanced Architectural Design). He has been lecturer and visiting researcher at IUAV, La Sapienza, UNR, UCSG, TU Delft, TU Berlin and Cooper Union; curator of exhibitions related to the UPM NuTAC research group such as “I+D+VS: futuros de la vivienda social en 7 ciudades”, “Arquitectura de Vivienda Social en la Ciudad Iberoamericana” or “Arte en la Calle: Madrid 2000-2018”; lead investigator of the research projects “Holland in Madrid” and “Arte en la Calle”. Among his international publications are the research articles “El Pisito 2011: Housing and Urban Form in Spain” (Lotus International, 148, 2011), “If… you can dream and not make dreams your master: la Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid” (DASH, 10, 2014) or “Robin Hood Gardens: casa e monumento” (Rassegna di architettura e urbanistica, 155, 2018). His built works have received prizes like the Galicia Architects Association (COAG) Gran de Area prize and have been acknowledged several times as finalist for the FAD prizes.
