De Andrés De Vicente, Javier

Javier De Andrés De Vicente (1987) is a PhD Architect, Master in Advanced Architectural Projects and Architect by the ETSAM (UPM). During his training he resided on scholarship at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT, Chicago, USA) and the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India). Co-founding partner since 2017 of the architectural firm AYLLÓN. PARADELA. DE ANDRÉS Arquitectos. Associate Professor since 2022 of the Projects Department of the ETSAM (UPM) and member of the Collective Housing Research Group (GIVCO) of the aforementioned university since 2019.

His professional work has deserved the recognition of several awards, both for built work – COAM 2020 and COAM 2017 Awards, MATCOAM V Award 2022 edition, Selected FAD 2020 Awards, Selected VII Convocatoria Arquia Próxima, First Work Bauwelt Award Finalist 2017, Europan 12… -The company has received more than 20 distinctions in this section, including seven first prizes; among them, the First Prize for the ‘Interpretation Center of Ceuta in the old Royal Walls and the Baluarte de la Bandera’, the First Prize for the ‘Enhancement of the archaeological site of the Andalusian Arrabal de la Arrixaca and the Gardens of San Esteban’ in Murcia, the First Prize for the ‘Rehabilitation of the Posessió de Raixa as a Mountain Hostelry and Agroforestry School’ in Mallorca or the First Prize for ’42 Cooperative Housing Units for Young People’ in Gandía, among others -the first 3 being interventions on heritage listed as BIC-.

His work has been published in various national and international media, such as Arquitectura Viva, On Diseño, NAN Arquitectura, Revista Arquitectura, Hinge Magazine, c3diz, Scalae, Divisare, Neo2 Magazine, Archello or Metalocus among others. Likewise, his research works have been published in several specialized magazines, such as Cuadernos de Proyectos Arquitectónicos, Revista de Patrimonio Histórico or Agathon, among others.
