Bio
Architect, graduate of the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM, 1983). PhD in Architecture from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM, 2003). Associate Professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor) in the Department of Architectural Design at ETSAM. Professor for the Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design at ETSAM, UPM. Member of the “Cultural Landscape” Research Group at UPM. Visiting Professor at various universities, including UTL, ETSAS, CES-CEU, Polytechnic of Milan, G'Annunzio, UEM, ETSAV, UTL, EPFL, ESAP, and the University of Valparaíso (Chile).
He has been awarded the Rome Prize in Architecture by the Spanish Academy in Rome (1991), the Extraordinary Doctoral Thesis Award from the Technical University of Madrid (2003), and the MAT-COAM Award for Built Work (2017).
He served as Director of the International Center for Cultural Heritage Studies (CIESPC, 2015–2016), coordinator of the Doctoral Program for the Department of Architectural Design at ETSAM (2009–2012), and Director of the Miguel Fisac Foundation (2006–2011). He is the author of numerous publications on the work of the Spanish architect Miguel Fisac, most notably the first monograph ever published on his work: Miguel Fisac. Arquitecto (1996), and Miguel Fisac. Premio Nacional de Arquitectura 2002, published by the Ministry of Housing in 2010.
His notable realized projects include the Huelva Congress and Exhibition Palace (1987–1992), the Multipurpose Building in Buitrago del Lozoya, Madrid (2000–2002), and the single-family home in Los Espetones, Almansa (2014–2016).
