Alberola Peiró, Mónica

Mónica Alberola graduated in Architecture in 1992 from the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM), Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). She obtained her International PhD in Architectural Design in 2022. She has been a Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAM since 1997 and has taught at both national and international universities.

Her teaching career has always been combined with professional practice and research. Her work has been exhibited and published in various media and has received several awards, including awards for social housing projects resulting from public competitions.

In recent years, her professional practice has focused on public works, including the restoration and recovery of the Finca Vista Alegre and the Escuela Nacional de Sanidad perteneciente al ISCII.

She is the author of the book “Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ejercicios de Estilo”, published by Ediciones Asimétricas, which brings renewed attention to the work of this important yet relatively unknown Italian architect.

She has always been actively involved in the academic governance of ETSAM and currently serves as Deputy Director for the Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability at ETSAM.
