Call for Grants for Open Access Publication in Q1 and Q2 Journals

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has launched the following call aimed at researchers, with the objective of funding Open Access publication costs in Q1 and Q2 journals that are not covered by transformative agreements or discounts managed by the Library. These journals provide free access to their content and typically charge authors publication fees.
The application deadline is 5 September 2025 at 14:00 (CET, Spain time).
The call has a total budget of €100,000, with funding of up to €3,000 per article.
Some of the key requirements are:
– Publications issued between 7 September 2024 and 5 September 2025.
– The applicant must be the corresponding author or lead author, be actively employed, and hold a valid contract with UPM.
– Only one application per person is permitted.
– The journal must be indexed in JCR or SJR and ranked in Q1 or Q2.
– Applications will not be accepted for publications eligible for APCs already covered or subject to active discounts.
