UPM Doctoral Symposium 2024 // Three Minute Thesis

Hello everyone!

The Doctoral Symposium is back! As you already know, the Symposium is an essential event in the calendar of training activities for UPM PhD candidates. It is a great opportunity to present the research lines developed in doctoral theses at UPM and within your PhD programmes, while also enhancing PhD candidates’ communication and science dissemination skills.

As in previous editions, the Doctoral Symposium adopts the Three Minute Thesis competition format and serves as the first stage of the regional competition organised by five public universities in Madrid: Autonomous University of Madrid, Complutense University of Madrid, University of Alcalá, Rey Juan Carlos University, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Each stage of the competition has its own rules and prizes for PhD candidates.

Presentation of videos and public voting for the first UPM stage: from April 8 to April 28, 2024

Announcement of the 15 finalists: May 3, 2024

Training sessions with public speaking experts (for finalists): May 13 and 14, 2024

UPM Final Stage, selection of UPM representatives and award ceremony: June 3, 2024. In person at the ETS School of Architecture, UPM.

Final of the Doctoral Schools Competition (UAH, UAM, UCM, UPM, URJC): June 14, 2024. In person at the Faculty of Medicine, UCM.
