Acebo García, Victoria

Victoria Acebo García graduated as an architect from the ETSAM in 1995. She has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Architectural Design (DPA) since 2011 and a professor of undergraduate and master's degree design projects at the School of Architecture, Engineering and Design of the European University of Madrid since 2003.

She has directed, among others, the Summer Workshop of the XI Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU), and has served as a jury member for the X and VIII BEAU, Europan 12, and the 1st Online Ideas Competition of the VI Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture.

Between 2013 and 2016, she co-directed the Revista Arquitectura (issues 366-372) of the COAM alongside Ángel Alonso. For this work, they received the Dissemination Award at the XIII BEAU and were finalists in the 2016 FAD Awards for Thought and Criticism for their "Face to Face" conversations.

Since 1999, she has also co-directed the aceboXalonso Studio with Ángel Alonso. For their work, they have received the National Young Architecture Award at the IX BEAU for the MUNCYT, the 2017 FAD Interior Design Award and the 2018 COAM Award for "Pontejos 9," the Architecture Award for career achievement at the 6th edition of the Observatorio D’Achtall, the 2008 VETECO-ASEFAVE Award for Best Lightweight Facade for the MUNCYT, and the Castilla y León Architecture Award (3rd edition) for the "Casa Terzagui."

They have been nominated three times for the Mies van der Rohe Awards: in 2009 for the "Casa Varsavsky" and the MUNCYT, and in 2001 for the "Casa LC." Their work has been exhibited at the VIII and X Venice Architecture Biennial (Spanish Pavilion), Tokyo Design Week, and at the MoMA in New York (On-Site: New Architecture in Spain).

Their work can be found in numerous international publications, such as El Croquis (issues 106-107, 119, 136-137), Bauwelt (10/08, 40-41/06), and Casabella (issue 810).
