Bio
Isabel Collado Baíllo graduated as an Architect from the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) in 2004, where she currently teaches in the Department of Architectural Design. She obtained her Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in 2009 and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation, Towards Weightless Architecture. She was a Professor of Architectural Design at IE University from 2011 to 2016 and taught at the Architectural Association (AA) in London in 2015 and 2017. She has also collaborated with the Master in Collective Housing (MCH) programme at ETSAM.
Before founding DOSIS, she collaborated with Sancho and Madridejos in Madrid, contributing to projects including a healthcare centre in Murcia and the library of the University of Nantes. She also worked with Frechilla and López Peláez in Madrid, participating in projects such as the extension of the Spanish Academy in Rome.
In 2006, together with Ignacio Peydró, she founded DOSIS, a laboratory of creative processes committed to expanding the boundaries of knowledge related to the built environment through innovative architectural solutions.
Her work has been widely published and internationally recognized, receiving awards such as the Holcim Award, the Best of Architecture 2016 distinction from DOMUS magazine, and the Gold Star for Professional Excellence in 2019. Her work has also been featured in exhibitions such as the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.
Her projects have received both national and international awards and have been exhibited in cities including San Francisco, London, Paris, Geneva, Copenhagen, and Madrid.
