Juárez Chicote, Antonio

Antonio Juárez Chicote is an Architect (Madrid School of Architecture, Polytechnical University of Madrid) since 1992. He was granted with a Fulbright Scholarship in 1994. He has been scholar at Post Professional Master Programs in Princeton University, Harvard, Yale, the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University. He stayed at the Graduate School of Architecture at Columbia and Pennsylvania taking classes at the AAD Master at Columbia University, as part of his predoctoral research. He obtained his Ph. D. in Madrid at the ETSAM in 1998, the same year when he began to teach at the Design Department of the School (DPA). Since 2001 he is Full Professor at the ETSAM. He has been visiting professor in Columbia University, Puerto Rico, West Sydney, Oporto, BUAP (Mexico), UIC (Barcelona), and most of the universities in Spain.

In 2001 he was awarded by the Madrid City Hall Prize on Architecture, Design and Urban Planning on the Media Category for the book: "Banco de Bilbao: Saenz de Oiza". He has published "El universo imaginario de Louis I. Kahn", "Exploring Matter. Degree Zero in Architectural Design", "Matterscapes, Taxonomy for Conditions of Material Organization" and “Search vs Re-Search. Teaching Art and Architecture”. He has received the Certificate of Recognition by the American Institute of Architects. He is the editor of the electronic annotated compilation of texts on Design Teaching "Proyectar, Dibujar, Pensar" since 2013. Author of the book: “Exploraciones gráficas. Tres décadas de obra plástica”.
