Mosquera González, Javier

Javier Mosquera Gonzalez is an Architect (2007) and Master in Advanced Architectural Design (2017) at the Madrid School of Architecture, where he has worked as a teaching assistant in the Grupo4 unit! since 2013, being an associate professor since 2019.

In 2019 he obtained the Tulane Design Teaching Fellow Scholarship, which allows him to develop his teaching and research work at the Tulane School of Architecture.

His research proposes a critical review of the work of Marion Mahony Griffin and Walter Burley Griffin. Mestizos in their condition as itinerant architects and thanks to the multiple influences received in the four continents in which they develop their projects, their legacy confirms ideas enunciated during the 19th century, that try to place the individual and his condition as a social being in relation to nature at the center of his theoretical discourse. He has published several articles on his research in specialized journals Proyecto Progreso y Arquitectura, REIA and RITA, having obtained the mention as a finalist in the XI Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism in the category of research texts.

He has participated in the Educational Innovation Projects of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, “The game of the city” and “Case of Ground”, as a member of the teaching team of the teaching unit Group4 !, in which educational methodologies are applied that affect in collaborative and ludic aspects as decisive factors in the teaching of architectural design.

Since 2007 he develops his professional work as an architect, taking part on national and international ideas competitions, having won awards in different countries such as Mexico, Italy, United States, South Korea, South Africa and Spain. He is a regular collaborator in  habitual de Pesquera Ulargui arquitectos y Ulargui y asociados arquitectos since 2007.
