Pesquera González, Eduardo

In 1989, he graduated as an Architect from the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) with highest honours and co-founded his architectural practice, competing in numerous architectural competitions and receiving several first prizes. In 1994, he was awarded the Architecture Fellowship at the Spanish Academy in Rome, where he began his doctoral research on the contemporary relevance and operative potential of architectural design mechanisms inherited from the past.

Upon returning from Rome, in 1995 he was appointed Associate Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAM, combining his teaching activities with research and professional practice through his architectural office. His work spans all scales and fields of architecture, from large-scale infrastructure and urban design projects to interventions in cultural heritage. He obtained his PhD from ETSAM in 2010, graduating summa cum laude.

He has served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Bologna, the Polytechnic University of Milan, and the University of Navarra. His work has received recognition through numerous awards and distinctions, including selections and prizes at several editions of the Spanish Architecture Biennial, the Venice Biennale, the Luis Moreno Award, and the Selinunte Award, among others.

His work encompasses a wide range of programmes and typologies, united by a common approach: the holistic resolution of problems within complex systems, frequently through the reinterpretation and contemporary transformation of existing architectural heritage.
